I contacted him yesterday and received several pics. It looks to be an old saw mill and lumber yard. There are several, several stacks and racks of lumber. OP said his son bought it all at an estate sale. I wish I had a flatbed or two. I could zig zag across the eastern and central US, peddling it to you guys and we’d all be tickled pink.

That's a good price, even for oak, but shoot, who has room for 10k bf, let alone 6-7 times that??

I looked yesterday after this post and it seems a tractor trailer can only haul about 12k bd feet depending on the species. 10k board feet would completely fill up my shop assuming I had nothing in it and didn't sticker it.

I am a very old retired woodworker. I developed a neuropathy in my nerves that control my leg muscles. I lost my balance and fell on my running cabinet saw. Much healing later I knew my woodworking days were over.  But the love of the woodworking is still there. So for enjoyment I lurk on several sites and follow the  posts. I am very handy capped now. Reading the posts gives me much joy in a dull day.    I hope you guys don't mind if I just lurk around.

As far as the lumber goes, to look at it all is mind numbing. There is a lot more than I showed pics of. There are a lot of big and small turning blocks in different species.  All the wood outside includes the shelters they are in if you want them.    I believe it will take several Flatbeds to haul it all.    Any one seriously interested really should make the trip to see if it is what they want.

Sir, you are always welcome to lurk and even better, throw us some advice as you see fit! Most of us are small garage/shop hobbyists that don’t have room for a fraction of what is there, but I would almost give up sex for a month, just to drool over it! 

Have you contacted any local hardwood dealers in your area? Probably a foolish question?

@Mr Dale, we are certainly glad to have you with us, and I hope you take opportunityto share some of your experience. I am very sorry to hear that you are no longer able to enjoy the craft in your former capacity.

As for that lot of lumber, I fear that the majority of active participants in this forum are operating at a scale far too small to handle all that. I know you would prefer to avoid piecing it out, but unless you can link up with a retailer, someone like Bell Forest Products, I doubt it will go as a single lot.

I wish i had a lot to store it and a means to transport it. I"m not to far and I'd slowly just sell it on Facebook or Craig's list. But i can only take about 1,000 BF at a time on my trailer. I'd totally come and get 1,000 BF though.

Drew,  I would be willing to help you load and unload  in exchange for being able to by a few boards now and then for more than they cost you.  I just don't have any storage space.

I totally hear you on this one!  I keep saying the pile is getting smaller but I do not think she believes me any more.
