Eric.
Killer piece Mick! I love that bead detail. And I'm not a big fan of ambrosia but it works great on this. Well done sir!
Coop
How in the world have I missed this thread? Fantastic piece of furniture. I love ambrosia. I just bout 3 pieces at Rockler's sale. Great job!
wnaziri
For some reason, I had not noticed this thread either. That looks great. I have no experience with ambrosia maple but love the look.
Coop
Micks, your pins, were they round and you used square plugs or were they the same shape as the plugs?
Mick S
Micks, your pins, were they round and you used square plugs or were they the same shape as the plugs?I pinned the tenons with dowels and plugged them with square plugs. I used a HCM chisel with a mallet. Quick work.

Well done sir!Ambrosia by itself can easily overwhelm a piece. I think once I get the finish on this, and bring out the warmer tones, it will add a bit of character.

wdwerker
The level of detail is impressive ! I like the contrast of the ambrosia panels and the ebonized strip adds another layer.A beautiful piece of furniture that is functional as well ! Thanks Shane and Bryan! She rarely sleeps on her bed. Seems to prefer the concrete since it's cool in the summer and warm in the winter (radiant heat). wtnhighlander
That's really cool, Micks! I wonder if that design could scale up to a human-sized bed? I love the grain of those inner doors, by the way.
