Popular Post bleedinblue
The cool thing about these is that any standard 12" tile drops in the center, so as furniture or decorations change, the tables can be changed too. Some more of Eric's Missouri Cherry, dominos, a couple curves, a little bit of walnut inlay and a few splashes of ARS. The rabbets for the tile gave me a good excuse to buy a router plane. The tiles set in perfectly before assembly, now they need some fine tuning as there's a little bit of play. Other than that I'm more satisfied with these than my average project.

treeslayer
I've thought about doing this myself as opposed to glass tops, looks great and the variety of tiles are endless.
Keggers
Well done! Very pleasing to the eye! I also like the choice of replacing the tiles down the road as needed or wanted.

Rex Edgar
Very nice! What's the trick to adding the walnut between the miters?
bleedinblue
Thanks everyone! For the walnut inlay I just used a miter sled in the TS, shimmed out the fences until the table top was centered with the blade, and cut a kerf width out using one blade from a dado stack about a quarter inch deep. Then glued in the walnut. Flushed up with a block plane.
