legenddc
First day of school for us here. My son is in 1st grade and my daughter is in 3rd. I have no idea how they got so old so fast. My first day back at work after having last week off. My wife just left for a few day work trip. I'll be in for a long night of filling out forms once the kids go to bed.
Popular Post BillyJack
Dum dum me. I promised the grand daughter cinnamon rolls this morning and grabbed regular biscuits. Had to locate and cook the cinnamon rolls. Guess I'll be eating regular biscuits for lunch. 1

The wife goes to work before school, so I have to get her up, make sure she gets dressed, feed here, come her hair and walk her to the bus..

We've been trying to get the kids to help more in the morning to teach them some responsibility and make our mornings easier. Still mornings can be a challenge. Popular Post legenddc
Kids school finally realized they could send all the paperwork home prefilled with the information we already gave them. Just had to sign a few sheets. I think last year I spent 90 minutes filling it out.

One of the connection insulators for the heating element (lower right) decided to not insulate allowing arcing to the top of the machine. Not enough current to trip the GFCI. Good argument for arc fault detector. New connectors came in the mail today. Got the melted old ones cleaned out and new wiring harness made (upper left mostly). Nice connectors, you crimp the metal part and then snap the plastic piece over so you don't have to futz with crimping through the plastic. And reasonably priced at a buck each. I will open it back up in a few days to check on it as I'm still not sure why the old insulator failed but now that I understand how the plastic covers work, I'm suspicious one of the two clasps wasn't engaged when the machine was assembled and it vibrated loose over time.

She was getting kinda loud at the stop sign talking to another class mate. Had to calm her down.. We have had a lot of trouble getting her off milk. She wants milk 24/7. So while at the grocery store I bought Sunny D, orange juice, Welch’s grape juice,Juicy Juice, etc in individual drink containers. She loves them. We only give her a 3rd of a 16oz pop a day at dinner, milk in the mornings and juices or water the rest of the day. So that was the trick…Individual containers she can have control of, plus I’m tired of pops as well…
legenddc
We went through that too with my son who is the same age. We think he was having stomach issues from too much dairy. What worked for us was filling up a protein shaker bottle with measurements and telling him you can have this much milk a day, when you run out you're done. He did a great job rationing it and would say I only want 3 fingers of milk now so I can have more at bedtime. Our kids are told to bring a water bottle to school. Keeping that filled and around him is helpful to keep them drinking water. Their 18 oz. Yeti's have lasted for a year of abuse so far between school, sports, Disney world, summer camps.

They didn’t start getting picky until 2-3. Not to say they don’t still eat well, but that’s when they started forming (often unfounded) opinions about food. Oh it's less that and more if you put cookies or other "treats" next to the foods i mentioned she'll throw the cookies on the floor to grab salmon and avocado. Also found out she really likes pork chops with a good smoke flavor off the weber kettle. Wouldn't touch the same seasoned chop off the gas grill a few weeks back, probably coincidence but the first sold food she ever had was a turkey smoked on our kettle. Popular Post JohnG
Just got back to town from a trip in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in Minnesota along the Canadian border. Fantastic as always! Paddled for 4 days and spent 3 nights. Was my wife’s first time up there, and she loved it. This was my 4th trip.

They would send me an email to "pre-checkin" a couple days before my appointment. Give us your full name, email, home number, dammit you just SENT me an email with all that info!!! And it would take, as you said, 90 minutes to fill out. Then, when arriving to the appointment, I'm given a clipboard with the same damn questions!!!! The very last appointment, I refused to "pre-checkin" and when I gave them my name, they said "Okay, please take a seat." No clipboard!! Maybe my tantrum with the flamethrower and the chainsaw had an impact the time before. Okay, I'm kidding but only sorta. Maybe they finally got some IT help to streamline the process. And it felt good to vent just now... On a completely unrelated topic, I made a batch of Hatch green chile sauce and some Huevos Rancheros for breakfast: 5
