Chet
How much time in advance, did you spend planning and coming up with design Ideas for everything. Did you draw everything yourself to pull the permits? 18 hours ago, Chestnut said: So your wife is going to want to sell the house and move as soon as you're done? We new early on it would be primarily a rec area and the exercise room but the theater I have only been kicking around for about a year. I would say a large part of the extended build was the research required to get things designed and built. For the permits I only had to draw out three plans; a septic diagram, a plumbing diagram, and the floor plan. The septic and the plumbing were basically stick diagrams the floor plan was more official since I was moving some door ways one of which was in a bearing wall. 1 minute ago, Chestnut said: Did i offer you some of the forms and jigs from my build? pkinneb
This week I finished the riser steps and cut in the outlet boxes Then I had to reroute the projector HDMI conduit since the original ended up in the HVAC return I'll have to stuff the one in the wall with insulation it will be behind the projector so it will never be seen. Lastly thanks to Chestnut and RonnW I finally got to Siwek's and picked up some poplar I needed for the door jamb and the soffit lip...who says you cant haul 12' lumber in a five foot box Oh and there was a flag on there when I left lol
Tom King
I always wondered how many times those flags ever did any good. What JD tractor is that? I've been looking for one to run a larger belly mower than the riding mower, but there are so many to choose from that it's not an easy decision. JD 4115 full disclosure I don’t mow with it other than my brush hog. I use it for blowing the driveway, mowing back the woods with the brush hog a couple times a year, and whatever else my sil needs it for lol. I’ve had it since new about 12ish years and it’s been great. I have forks for the bucket which are nice as well. I have a JD z445 for mowing awesome mower but I’ll never buy another zero turn mower with out a suspension. It’s fast but beats the crap out of me 2 hours ago, Chestnut said: I think that would violate the 4 foot out of the bed unflagged. Yeah I was a little concerned but no issues, at the angle it was at not going to hit to many vehicles
Popular Post pkinneb
For the first time in a long time I spent the whole weekend in the shop!! Not going to lie it was awesome First I glued the first layer of 1/2" MDF to the door slab. I used wood glue on the edges/middle and GG everywhere else. adding mass to the door will help contain the bass inside the theater. Next I drew a quick plan for the door jamb since the door is thicker than a normal door this has to be custom made. First thing I realized is that the opening was a 1/2" to narrow A few minutes with a sawzall, prybar, and various other tools and that problem was solved. This was on the non hinge side so narrowing it up a bit is not an issue. The hinge side is three 2x4's wide due to the weight of the finished door. Then it was on to milling some poplar for the job. I gave it a quick run through the drum sander after the planner. I added rabbits at the top and it was time for a test fit Today I decided I need to ponder the door jam a bit longer so I moved onto the soffit lip. To do this I had to test my LED light strips to make sure they would work as I wanted, good news no surprises. They will turn on via an Insteon programmable outlet and then can be adjusted via an app or Alexa Next I had to mock up the lip Then it was into full production mode To make the curve up front I kerfed that piece. I settled on every 3" after a couple test runs That should work nicely Then I installed them. Went fairly quick, they are mitered so the front connection was a weird angle but the gauge @Chet just put me onto came in handy. Glad that's done becuase now I can hang the final drywall and complete the theater wiring.
drzaius
What kind of surface are you mounting the LED tape too? Sticking it to something that doesn't dissipate the heat well enough can lead to color shift and drastically shortened life. A strip of aluminum works well, or Lee Valley sells a couple of different aluminum extrusions made for LED tape.

Popular Post pkinneb
Taper finished up, turned out very well this guy is talented Back row of theater seats came in so I moved them down to the basement and set one up. They were packed very well and came from Europe. They are commercial theater rockers that took 9 weeks to get but were worth the wait they are very nice quality and comfortable. I think the row of four will do very well as overflow seating. The front row will be a row of four recliners; a single seat, then love seat, and then another single seat. Then I swapped the Oak door for the new door that will be painted white. If anyone in the MPLS area is interested I have a really nice 48" oak double door for sale $150, its a $600 door but I want it out of my garage details on MPLS CL. The new door is glass too but comes prepped to be painted. Lastly for this update I finished most of the theater wiring so I can get my final electrical inspection. My permit runs out on the 18th so I had to do this before finishing the theater in order to meet the timeline. I used metal screw in anchors (tried plastic but they snapped right off in the double drywall), then used acoustical sealant around the wires before mounting Also installed the step lights and riser outlets. Missing a couple misc pieces I'll pick up tomorrow and the electrical will be complete

It will sit in the back corner of the bar next to our frozen concoction maker that I picked up on sale last week , 33% off still crazy expensive but the wife wants what the wife wants

Was it an above ground tank with 1 pump where you had to drive over the safety berm to get to the pump? Did it also have a portajohn and a vending machine to cover the convience store? Coop
In reality, you guys know how lucky you really are. Sure, you have to make a HD shopping list and plan your trip but today, I drove 45 minutes west and never got to the other side of the city. To us, remote is something that operates the tv.
