Popular Post BillyJack
I get a pallet of dialysis for my treatments. At first I would unload on my own time and send back on the next load once each month. I decided to keep the pallets and make planters for the yard. One pallet, one planter.

Coop
How are you going to plant in these? With a rubber liner to support the soil or simply putting the pots inside?
Popular Post BillyJack
When I find two suitable pots, I'll cut the radius out at the top to support it. Kinda like a pot sitting in a ring planters will not hold dirt, just a decoy for holding a pot. At the end of the season I'll remove pots... Why it doesn't have a solid bottom, when watering it will drain to the ground.. A fake planter..
Chestnut
Nice those look good. I've found some pallet slats are made from oak and maple and can turn out really nice. I recently helped with a pallet wood project. I loaded half a cord of processed pallet wood into a dumpster. The whole time i was thinking it's a shame to throw away all this pallet wood that's already been processed. I was helping a friend who had just bought the house and the wood came with. They tried to give it away to people on Facebook quite a few people came and took pickup loads but there was just too much. The number of mice nests....
Mark J
Does processed mean chemically treated, or just cut to size?

Popular Post curlyoak
The curly red oak was a pallet. It was green so I waited several years to use it. Popular Post BillyJack
Hopefully this winter I can get a good start on the Shuffleboard table. A lot of walnut and Sapele scraps sitting around I've had for years.

legenddc
Crazy you get a pallet a month but I guess it beats sitting at a treatment center for hours on end. Nice to see you making good use of them AND making nice looking projects. I hope you have a big enough spot to put all of them.
BillyJack
As soon as I receive the second pallet I'll cut them up. I think the guy delivering told me the pallets were $45. We won't pay that, but tge medical industry is being charged that for new pallets...
JohnG
New wood pallets aren’t even close to $45. I think we pay $13ea for new, a bit more for heat treated. Plastic ones might be around that though.

BillyJack
I get another pallet this week and it will give me two. Anything you think I can build with it. I’m all ears..
BillyJack
I missed my last pallet. Because of the knee problem I:was unable to get my free pallet. I get another pallet on Dec. . 5th. I’m hoping it will be enough for a two or three tier planter..
Popular Post BillyJack
.finally put them to use..These flower containers were almost toast as the stores start closing them out. These looked great in the spring , but will need a little TLC to bring them back to a healthy state. I talked to the gardener at the store about making these for next spring. They thought it was a good idea. I think if I could do a pastel American flag on the boxes, they would move quick in the spring..
BillyJack
I’ve got a little separation of the wood. I used TH3 and 18 guage Brad nails. I think I’ll use some 15 guage onmtye boxes and see if they will hold better. It’s all trial and error
