Popular Post ..Kev
As many of you know, I'm currently on the road for work. I was fortunate enough to find someone at the refinery I'm working in to stay with in their home rather than a hotel. The kitchen cabinets are typical of those built in the 80's where they have a cutting board built into the cabinets. When I asked where the one was that belonged in this house, the home owner took me to the garage and showed me the chunk of plywood that was in there when he bought the house. He said it was just gross when he bought the house so, just tossed it in the garage about 8 years ago. So, with Chet's help, I was able to correct that today. Big thanks to Chet for the use of his shop and the help along the way!

Coop
Look at you dude! Mighty cool! I'm sure your buddy's wife appreciates it and will repay you handsomely with home cooked meals. And maybe you can tell Chet how good they were!

Woodenskye
Great job Kev! The grain in the walnut sort of gives the appearance of a dark bamboo!

drzaius
Great job on that cutting board. We used to have one of those, but every time the kids used it, they'd push it back in without cleaning it. The drawers below would just fill with crumbs & gunk. So it was either get rid of the board or the kids. Still not sure I made the right choice

Popular Post drzaius
No, sadly. But on the up side, I got some fantastic grandkids out of the deal.
Ronn W
Very cool. Like a pleasant surprise every time she cuts something. Looks like you had to do end grain gluing. Is that right?
JosephThomas
Looks good. But I'm a little confused at what I'm seeing, might just be my crappy monitor...can you explain the joinery?
Brendon_t
Spin me up here Kev, it looks like you crosscut the main blank then off set it then reglued?. That would be gluing end grain to end grain. How did you make it strong enough to do the bent inlay?
JosephThomas
Obviously he used pocket holes hidden on the underside then used a plug cutter to make nice pocket hold plugs. Obviously. I'm just gonna go with that until we get a response
drzaius
Dominos would work for this, wouldn't they?
JosephThomas
Yeah it's probably dominos. I was only suggesting pocket holes to try and spark enough anger to get a response: p Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

I didn't have a domino to use. The "handle" on the end has domino's in it as I brought mine back with me after a short trip home.
