Popular Post RichardA
I built this for a friend, in trade for some wood for my next project. The table is figured Cherry. I forgot to get a shot of the top, it's got an inch wide sap wood on both long edges and a ton of figure.

wdwerker
The pegged tenons add a nice touch as well ! Lots of classic details yet it doesn't seem like a copy of an old piece nor to be based on plans, so it must be an original . Surely it's signed & dated ?

wdwerker
I bet a tiny amount of glazing wiped into the beads groove would really make it pop ! Some dark wax would probably be easy to try & remove if they didn't like the affect.
Spanky
The table looks great rick. Looks like you have a big pile of wood in your shop too.

Chestnut
I love it! I think you handled that figured wood beautifully. I'm embarking on a coffee table design an wanted to do a lower "shelf" that had holes in it like that. Is there a name for that? Megan shot down my design so plain stretcher it is.

I don't know if there is a name for that. I included those blocks, for two reasons. #1 it would keep all three stretchers on the same plane. #2 every piece of this cherry had a twist in it somewhere, and this keeps them sorta straight. Coop
I like the beading and the bottom shelf. Too late to incorporate the beading on my current build but, I’m stealing your shelf idea, permission granted ?

bushwacked
Very nice!! How did you do the drawers? Are the on wood sliders or boxed in and rails attached or what?
RichardA
Drew, they are kinda boxed in to give a close friction fit. They slide out easy and go back in, a tiny tad more snug.

There are two technical terms that I have seem mentioned in design articles, especially stuff done by Charles Limbert, Cutouts and Grid Work.
