Mark J
So I was thinking about getting the Grrriper for my new table saw, but I wanted to hear from folks here. Looking at the pictures I realized that to use the Grrriper the saw's blade guard has to be removed. It seems counterintuitive to me to defeat one safety system so you can use another one. pkinneb
If you decide you want one let me know I'll make you a good deal on a set.
Barron
Some cuts require the removal of the guard, thin rips, for example. The Gripper is great for these cuts.
..Kev
I gave my Grippers away some time ago. I was just never a fan of the product.

Yes, this is when the gripper can really shine. But I use mine almost all the time, and to be honest I don't have the blade guard on my saw. drzaius
I carefully considered getting one, but realized that I would only very rarely get to use it. I only remove the guard when absolutely necessary & if the Grripper will fit between the fence & guard, then the Grripper isn't even needed. When I emailed the company about my conundrum, the reply basically said that with a Grripper, you don't need the guard.

My saw was meant to cut wood and I understand and respect that. I love my GRR-RIPPER!
gee-dub
This is one of those things that folks run either hot or cold on. I love 'em. I have various push blocks but, the Grr-Rippers are my primary.
Mick S
I use mine a lot. They can be a little time consuming to set up and tweak, but they work great. Table saw, router table and jointer - I get my money's worth out of them. The one thing I've noticed is that I get more precise cuts using them since they do grip so well. Constant pressure against the fence.
SawDustB
I find I really only use it on thin rips, bit I only bought one. Maybe it'd be different if I had a pair. My guard is only on maybe half the time, mostly because it's a pain to adjust the height of my riving knife and I need it low to use my sled. Immortan D
I have a set and I use them on my table saw. And yes, I had to remove the blade guard but I don't miss it, considering it doesn't have a dust collection port.

Bankstick
I use a push stick and a push block. I have never used the blade guard; I like to see the pencil line when I'm cutting. If I had to do it again, here is what I would have bought if it had been available. https://www.woodcraft.com/products/5-piece-power-tool-safety-set
chashint
I have two of them and I think they are better than sliced bread. I use them constantly and really couldn't imagine going back to any other type of push pads. If the offer above about selling a pair for cheap is legitimate grab them. TerryMcK
I have one with all the attachments and it is ok - not brilliant but ok. A push stick like the one Marc Spagnulo sells is cheaper, keeps your hand/fingers much higher out of the path of the blade and you don't mind if it (the push stick! ) gets hacked to pieces - you can make another very easily. Coop
TERRY! @TerryMcK, Where the heck you been bud? Good to hear your voice! I too like Marc’s design. I bought one, used it as a pattern to make two more and hung the original on a cabinet door in the shop for looks!
Popular Post TerryMcK
Hey Ken. I’ve been very busy with my new job and haven’t had any time to look at any forums. Very little shop time this year too. I made a coffee table early February and last night I finished a walnut 6 string electric guitar.
