Popular Post gee-dub Posted May 11, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted May 11, 2024 Despite behaving myself really well post-op on the hand . . . apparently I was performing the physical therapy exercises as directed. They never expect anyone to do that and so they over-prescribe. The surgery is healing well but the opening is greater than they like due to the stretching, dexterity, strength exercises. A couple of butterfly bandages and instructions like "don't even scratch your head" for the next couple of weeks . So I sit in the fire-pit area and enjoy the flowering yucca. We have yellow too but I didn't get any pics . . . I might have had to use my left hand to get out of the chair . As a result the remodel is done and the dressers are not. I will endeavor to persevere. 7 2 Quote

Popular Post legenddc Posted May 13, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted May 13, 2024 That looks a lot different than the yucca I'm used to seeing. I guess battered and fried changes its appearance some. Spent the weekend with my in-laws at a Jellystone campground. Wife and I aren't camping people. She has to go camping again on Saturday with Girl Scouts. 3 Quote
Popular Post legenddc Posted May 14, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted May 14, 2024 Lost power yesterday morning. I ended up going into my (empty) office. We were getting closer to no power for 4 hours and it not expected to return for another 2-5 hours so I stopped by Home Depot and bought this Dewalt inverter. Was hoping for just enough juice to run the fridge and freezer one at a time. Of course the inverter was missing parts and therefor wouldn't work. While I was waiting to return it my neighbor texted that the power came back on. I hear the power company working out there today. Hopefully we don't lose power again today. 3 1 Quote
Popular Post Coop Posted May 17, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted May 17, 2024 Just came out of the closet. No, not that closet. Phones were going crazy and sirens were going off, warning of tornadoes. Luckily it blew thru without a tornado or substantial damage. Gonna grab a beer and a cigar instead of a chainsaw and blue tarps! 6 Quote

Popular Post JohnG Posted May 18, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted May 18, 2024 Quick project tonight from some scrap 2x pine. No planning, no finishing. Only need it temporarily to get the plants off the floor so my dog won’t step on them again. Some time soon(ish) will be a potting bench build to replace this. 5 Quote
Popular Post Mark J Posted May 18, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted May 18, 2024 Funny thing about quick builds and prototypes, If they work they tend linger for a lot longer than you planned. 3 3 Quote
Popular Post JohnG Posted May 18, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted May 18, 2024 Like the temporary puzzle table I made a while back. It’s wobbly but still being used frequently. By replace I meant more of that physical location. I’ll shuffle this around and use it until it falls apart. Might put it in the greenhouse at some point. 4 Quote
legenddc Posted May 19, 2024 Report Posted May 19, 2024 Fixed an outlet in our outdoor closet. The guys who added insulation totally botched where the hole for the ceiling light went so they just pulled the romex over to the hole and covered it up. Who needs a box? My wife ran a load of laundry yesterday but left something in the sink and sent loads of water through the basement. I pulled up some floor planks and have a bunch of fans going. We vacuumed and used towels to absorb all the water we could. Time to figure out what I need to do to plumb the washer into a drain pipe, not the sink. 2 Quote

Why are you talking about our house? I just started it in 1980. 1 4 Quote
Popular Post Tom King Posted May 23, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted May 23, 2024 I changed the front brake pads in Pam's car this morning. I hadn't worked on a car since working on my truck and tractor. This Impreza was like working on a toy. About 10 to 15 minutes on each side which included rotating the tires. Floor jack under the frame behind the front tire lifted the whole side of the car up, so it was little trouble to rotate the tires while I had the front one off anyway. The yellow caliper hanger is well work having. I think I bought them off Amazon some years ago. Normally I use a C-clamp to compress the pistons, but one wouldn't fit in these calipers so I used a couple of small woodworking clamps. They worked easily. She had worn them down until they were starting to make noise in 50,000 miles. 5 Quote
Popular Post Coop Posted May 25, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted May 25, 2024 One thing I like about my 2020 Chev pu is the info system shows the life of the pads. I think that should be standard on all vehicles, not only for the safety of the operator but also for the life of the rotors. 5 Quote
Popular Post Coop Posted May 25, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted May 25, 2024 I have 6 jalapeno pepper plants that all did exceptionally well. Kind of hard to tell from the pic but here are some from two of the plants. So, with the help of some YouTube videos, I spent a couple of hours out of the heat and over the stove. 10 Quote

wtnhighlander Posted May 26, 2024 Report Posted May 26, 2024 Cleaning out the garage today. This unopened can of paint was a leftover from the exterior update of the house last summer. SW makes good stuff, lots more solids in this than some of the cheaper paints I was eliminating. Surprised to see it go so dry in less than a year, though. 1 1 Quote
Coop Posted May 26, 2024 Report Posted May 26, 2024 Wow! From the looks of the pic, I would have thought you mixed it with sawdust for it to dry out for disposal. 2 Quote
wtnhighlander Posted May 26, 2024 Report Posted May 26, 2024 I did, but that was after the photo. 1 Quote
