Popular Post Gixxerjoe04
Got the changing table together today, with a week to spare. Made from cherry, with cherry plywood for the shelf and bottom of the changing pad box on top. Domino joinery and arm r seal for the finish.
Eric.
Cool piece man! I like simple. Kind of has a Danish modern/Krenovian thing going on. Did you follow plans or was that your design?
Gixxerjoe04
My design, wasn't sure if the top would look fine or not, but guess it'll work. Was going to put two shelves instead of one, then realized that'd be a waste of time and material when the ground will do that same thing as a shelf haha.

Sent from my SM-N910W8 using Tapatalk Magic my friend I'll take some pics of it later, but just ran two stretchers across the inside, cut a curve a few inches in on each side. Wasn't sure of the best way to secure the top, thought about using figure 8 fasteners just bc that would have been easier. Ended up drilling out deep holes and used 3 screws in each stretcher going into the plywood, seems sturdy enough for what it will be used for. If for some reason it doesn't feel secure after some use or with a baby in it. Thought about taking my track saw and cutting a groove perpendicular to the stretchers and adding a board in it for more strength and places to put screws in. Coop
Fantastic design and build Joe. As I don't see a backslash on the wall, you must be expecting a girl?

Chestnut
Wonderful work! I've been waiting to see what you were going to do on this. I really like how simple it is. I'm assuming that you have plans to put a normal top on it an reuseit for a different task later?
prov163
Really nice Joe. I don't think I've ever seen a changing table with a floating top. Interesting. That will get handed down and the cherry will age beautifully. Congrats on the new baby!
