JohnG Posted February 4, 2024 Report Posted February 4, 2024 @legenddc those are fantastic, I love mine. I don’t often use the different attachments, but they are very useful when they are. Quote

Popular Post legenddc Posted March 27, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted March 27, 2024 I inherited a Dewalt 20v cordless router last week from my dad. His battery didn't seem to play nicely with it. I took it home to test with mine and it worked just fine. Somehow he went from agreeing to switch batteries with me, to buying a new battery to buying a whole new router/battery kit and told me to keep the old router. 4 1 Quote
JohnG Posted March 29, 2024 Report Posted March 29, 2024 12” Shop Fox. There aren’t many options. I considered the Grizzly but it has an aluminum table where this one is cast iron. Both have cast iron base. 2 Quote

Popular Post gee-dub Posted April 5, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted April 5, 2024 Six of these with free shipping. https://www.grizzly.com/products/shop-fox-12-heavy-duty-f-clamp/d2916 Seem to be of a very good quality for less than $10 each. I paid that for 6" Jorgies back in the day. 5 Quote
Coop Posted April 5, 2024 Report Posted April 5, 2024 I have 8 of this style ( no markings, blue instead of your white) and I’ve yet to get the hang of them. I guess I’m just use to the spring locking device that hold them in place. Quote
Popular Post Coop Posted April 10, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted April 10, 2024 Thought I would try some of Marc’s sandpaper. Looking forward to using it. 5 Quote

Tom King Posted April 10, 2024 Report Posted April 10, 2024 I rank it right above fixing old plumbing, finishing sheetrock, and installing insulation, so it's not quite all the way at the bottom. 2 Quote

I have been using it for years. Because it is a fairly rigid sandpaper Its nice for getting in corners and tight spaces. I use the 400 for blocking between finish coats and because of the stiffness you can use it without a block. 4 Quote
Popular Post pkinneb Posted April 11, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted April 11, 2024 Picked up a couple Lonon splitting wedges the ones I had were a little wide these are much thinner / sharper and should work well to get the split started. 3 Quote
Popular Post Ronn W Posted April 11, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted April 11, 2024 Got a patching kit for the nipple for the air hose on my vacuum bag. Will glue it on tomorrow. 3 Quote
Popular Post pkinneb Posted May 3, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted May 3, 2024 Picked up some new chair tools, a small HNT Gordon inside curve spokeshave, Narex butt chisel for splitting the spindle ends for wedges, and some American made drill bits. The holes are really important in these chairs and unfortunately not all bits are actually their stated size. American bits tend to be more accurate for this use case. 6 Quote
Popular Post Von Posted May 18, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted May 18, 2024 Final two Preppin Weapons came today to complete my set. A year ago I would not have believed I would be buying five sanding blocks, but they are so handy to have at the ready with the different grits and the colors work well for easy identification. Also thanks to those who have pointed out they can hold multiple pieces of sandpaper for quick replacements. Also bought my first 7" holdfast - I have a couple 4"ers. Initial reactions is the extra reach is worth it. Also feels like it has a little more holding power but I'm not certain. I'm already thinking I should have bought two. 5 Quote
JohnG Posted May 18, 2024 Report Posted May 18, 2024 The PWs are great, and having several layers is super handy. 2 Quote
JohnG Posted May 30, 2024 Report Posted May 30, 2024 @Tom King got me on the large Chapin mixes on exit sprayer for my tractor a while back. I just found that they also have a backpack sprayer that is mix on exit, so I got one. It arrived with the transfer hose fitting cross threaded and was leaking everywhere when I tried pumping it, but luckily the parts were not damaged and I was able to attach it correctly. I use the large powered version for most spraying, but this will be great for the woods around my house that don’t have tractor access. Quote
Tom King Posted May 30, 2024 Report Posted May 30, 2024 I hadn't seen that one. Thanks for posting about it. I don't know if you saw about the boomless sprayer nozzle I'm using, but it's one of these. A single nozzle sprays a swath about 30 feet with. I would have to check to see exactly which model I ended up with. https://www.abdequipment.com/products/20-boomless-nozzle-brass-1-2-nptf-400-65431? Quote
Popular Post wtnhighlander Posted May 31, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted May 31, 2024 Early Father's Day gift, 4 more clamps added to my collection. I like these Irwin pipe clamps, because the pipe doesn't need to be threaded. As it happens, I have numerous 2' lengths of 3/4" rigid conduit recovered from a home-grown jungle gym structure that I reclaimed when Jr. outgrew it. Fodder for more clamps in the future! 7 Quote
