It is going to be stained gray. (You can’t win them all ) it is going to be 80” tall and 40” wide. The top part is going to be glass with the design etched in the glass. I HATE stain but it also seems to help my business. People go and buy an ugly cheap piece of stained furniture. Have had some family stuff and the client wants to use Cremone bolts as hardware. This might change the design a little so I have to figure that out before I continue. Popular Post bradpotts Posted February 14, 2018 Author Popular Post Report Share Posted February 14, 2018 Got some work done today. I got all the panels glued together and sanded. Now the fun part. I decided to do a single finger joint. No other reason then I wanted to. All the joinery is going to be hidden by trim so it is more for entertainment. I can’t emphasize how important layout is for a good fitting joint. For the middle joint I cut out the edge using my router. Then used a hansaw and chisel to clean everything up. It is so important to make sure everything is square before transferring the lines. And cut the dado for the center dividerFor the dado, I marked the center of the cutoff from when I cut the shelves to size. Then I just marked the sides. I use the back side of my track saw as a guide since it can be easily clamped down. I also got the dado cut in the backs of the sides and shelf for the back. Here is a trick I am sure most people know but maybe not the greenhorns. You reference the bottom of the router bit with your piece of work. Then use a drill bit to get the exact depth size.
