Not the clearest photo, but I finally got the joinery all cut for this led-strip lamp, and did the first dry assembly. 5 Quote

Popular Post BillyJack Posted September 24, 2022 Popular Post Report Posted September 24, 2022 I'm at 4" now. Hope to get one more on today and finish tomorrow. Pulled the Cherry for the outher ring. 4 Quote
Popular Post gee-dub Posted September 25, 2022 Popular Post Report Posted September 25, 2022 Going through some of dad's old stuff and came across these small saws. Also a Kwik Skrape in the lower left corner. Apparently handy at one point in window painting detail work. I got a kick out of the smallest one shaped like a revolver handle. 3 Quote
Popular Post Chestnut Posted September 26, 2022 Author Popular Post Report Posted September 26, 2022 It's not on the bench yet but soon will be. I snagged some 1/2" BB ply in 4x8 sheet and 3/4" BB ply in 4x8 sheet. They were sitting in the damaged bin of the Menards I visit. You don't have a Menards? That's too bad it's like a fleet farm mixed with a box store. Any way each sheet was $13!!!! There was maybe an inch of damage on the end of both pieces and a dented corner. Gotta love the damaged ply bin. Kind of made me feel like I was stealing it but i got a receipt that says otherwise. 7 Quote

wtnhighlander Posted October 4, 2022 Report Posted October 4, 2022 @BillyJack, do you have a reliable method for cutting segments to make a perfect circle, or do you glue two semicircles and adjust at the final joint? Quote
BillyJack Posted October 4, 2022 Report Posted October 4, 2022 I've made these before using my Dewalt 708 which is pretty accurate. I used the Makita 10" slider because I bought it used and heed to see how accurate it is. It's not tye saw the Dewalt is, but I managed to use it. I apply marks on my table for 12 different pieces and try and stay on these marks making small adjustments as I go. When I applied the 12th and final pice it was about 2 degrees off. I'm not complaining. 1 Quote

Looks great!! What will the final outside dimension be? Also for the strips you bent around the inside how did you get the end to end connection tight? Thanks Quote
BillyJack Posted October 5, 2022 Report Posted October 5, 2022 Between 53"-54". On the laminations each one was applied with clamps and fitted on the end. I could only do 3-4. Meaning 3/8-1/2 each day till it reached 5 1/2. It's not going to be a fancy table, but I've been out of the game for a few years. Trying to get my head and body back into production mode. I figured I have enough material for atleast 6 more , not including the plywood and I have a 10 person holder table I need to complete..I've got a shuffleboard started years ago and it's been sitting. I've been lazy.. 1 1 Quote

After July I took an interest in home repairs and back into game tables. 1 Quote

I had to challenge myself and see if I could concentrate on anything wood related for an extended time. So far so good. I originally wanted a "Zombie" table, but I to complete one first..Each to mime I do one I do something different, this time I klaminated walnut for a chip tray.. Quote
