wouldwurker
Hinge update. Opened the $45 Rockler hinges. Right out of the package - small scratches on the show side of both hinges. Second pair, same thing. Once again proof that just about everything that says 'Rockler' is a piece of crap. The employees at the Atlanta location are miserable SOB's too. Serves me right for not getting Brusso the first time around. Will be ordering them on Monday. Popular Post wouldwurker
Trying to get some photos in different light to give a better feel of the chatoyancy on this box. The flame Birch was so insanely figured that when it's cut up so small and reconnected at so many different angles there's no distinct figure; rather, it shimmers in every direction like a disco ball. It's nuts. The outcome is definitely worth restoration of not being able to use my planer or hand planes on any of the work
Keggers
That is absolutely beautiful! The finish really made it pop. Sorry about your hinge problems.

Janello
Very nice Vinny. That must have took some serious patience even without the few pitfalls! End product looks like it was well worth it. Impressive work!

treeslayer
"Anything made more elegantly than necessary for it's usefulness is art" a quote from Melvin J Wachowiak in the book Virtuoso: The Tool Cabinet and Workbench of Henrey O Studley. i can see this piece in any art exhibit in the country Vinny, beautiful and meticulous work to a great detail, nicely done!!

wouldwurker
I really like the way you made that cut, not going all the way through then splitting with a knife. Never seen that before, WTG! If you subscribe to the $4.99/mo FWW member content, there's a video series called 'Basic Box Making w/ Doug Stowe'. Well worth the price of admission.
