Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk This is a tack trunk I made this year. Sorry for the poor image quality. First real project. Simple, but I'm proud of it. Popular Post wdwerker
All I could find was the full size of my profile pic. This job was a challenge. Matching existing cabinets on the other side of the room, fit between some crooked walls and build a tapered closet door to fit an existing frame that was wider at the top. Plus the view from a penthouse apartment was pretty cool !

Nothing too complex, but the grain of the wood just knocked me out. This was a fun going-away gift for a friend, which went from idea to finished product in 6 hours (thank god for spray lacquer). Probably the best shop time I've had all year.

Get your joinery right. Those are clearly braces. Suspenders clip and can be used on anything. Braces button to the pants and can only be used with pants that set up for it.

Thought that was a British English vs American English distinction? *shrug* my uncle always called them suspenders, and he buttoned them on. Can we turn this into a Brace-and-Bit pun? Popular Post Isaac
Visiting Edinburgh, Scotland early last year. Imagine my surprise when I found this shop was selling my very same hat!? This is a bookshelf I built for my office. I don't have nice photographs, of it, and it has some rather obvious flaws for anyone giving it closer inspection, but I'm proud of it because I built it without a table saw, jointer or power planer. It is made of 4/4 red oak planks that I hand planed and joined into slabs 14-15" wide. Never got around to putting a finish on it, I put it right to use.

wdwerker
They are button suspenders from Duluth Trading. I had to add the buttons to all my work pants. I've got so many tools in my pockets and on my belt that adding suspenders became nessacary. http://www.duluthtrading.com/store/mens/mens-accessories/mens-suspenders/21125.aspx?processor=content
Popular Post Klappco
Me and a couple pals at work today. Blue Friday. I'm the one with more mature hair. Big project of the year was my office remodel. Mahogany wainscoting all around and a new cabinet. New floor. Great excuse to buy a planer! Before the floor: The door for the left side cabinet opening. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
