Mark J
+1 on shop cameras. Besides just using it for a general building diary, taking a quick photo is a great way to document a clever solution for future use. Much faster than taking notes.
Popular Post Chestnut
Edited some pictures that have been sitting on my camera. One day i was interested in capturing birds doing acrobatics trying to land on or take off from the bird feeder. They aren't art worthy images but are interesting. This doe just was a good capture with some good light. Not a great picture but I like it.
Tom King
The third one is interesting. I guess the easiest way to gain airspeed to start with, is just to drop. I think bats have to do that, or can't lift off. One was trapped in an inverted globe light fixture in one of the old houses I worked on, and I figured that was its problem. Too slick to climb out of, and no way to drop, even with a large, wide open top. We took those light fixtures down, and stored them.
JohnG
Those are cool. It’s always interesting seeing some of the maneuvers and behaviors of birds. Love how blown out the backdrop is on the last three, especially in the one Tom mentioned.
Chip Sawdust
I have some shots somewhere of a huge red tailed hawk who hunts the slough behind our house. Most of the time it’s grass, and there are mice out there. Can’t find that, but I like the lighting angles on this picture. Not bad for an iPhone picture.
Chip Sawdust
If we didn’t have a fence I wouldn’t have it in this picture but this was shot from our back door. This was from our little Canon T6, don’t recall which lens
Chip Sawdust
This isn’t great photography but I thought it was cool for woodworkers It’s an old planer, industrial size.

Popular Post Chip Sawdust
An old jet engine off an intentionally-crashed NASA test aircraft. This was at the accident investigation school in OKC so it was cut away to be able to view some internal damage. Not a great pic but interesting to look at (to me).

Popular Post MJC
Here are some photos of the moon I took with a Nikon P900. This camera is phenomenal for its zoom and to think you can get pictures like this for a camera that cost as much as this one does is amazing. I have a Fujifilm that cost 3x as much and it cannot capture a photo like this.
Popular Post MJC
I live a few miles from Whiteman AFB which operates the B2 Bomber aka Stealth Bomber. They do exercises just about daily so seeing these beauties fly over is almost a daily occurrence.

Popular Post JohnG
Nut got me wanting to take some bird photos. This Tamron lens seems to want to back focus so I’ll have to find time to calibrate it, I’ve heard some reports of this tendency.
