legenddc
Amazing work Mick. Glad my wife didn't see that or I'd spend all of 2021 making something 1/4 as nice looking.
Chet
Mick those trays are beautiful and the sunset was beyond amazing.
drzaius
Well, I didn't go to work today, snow day. The car made it about 5 m down the driveway (which has a lot of slope down to the street) and is stuck fast. When it gets light out I'll go do some digging.
drzaius
Just got the car back in the garage with the help of 2 neighbors who just came running over when they saw I was stuck. Driveway & sidewalks were all clear for about 2 seconds. It's still snowing & supposed to for the rest of the day.

legenddc
Woah, finally understand how people get so much done in an evening. Don't have kids. Amazing what you can get done when your evening starts at 6 instead of 8:30. Kids are with their grandparents last night and tonight. Last night we got some takeout, watched 2 movies and spent about 2 hours wrapping gifts during one of the movies. Slowly chipping away at the end table build while painting the doll bunk bed I finished up. More wrapping tonight and then hopefully a fairly long day in the shop tomorrow. Anyone else's packages just sitting in USPS warehouses? I have two that have been sitting for a week. Nothing urgent but I'd like my daughters new winter coat to get here before the next storm. Damn kids and their growth spurts after you try on their winter gear.

I’m on covid quarantine now so hopefully I can sneak in a bit of shop time between working.
JohnG
Oh, and I fired up my 084 today and that thing is awesome! I thought it might be tough to start without the decompression valve but it really wasn’t. The bar seems to be lost along the border somewhere, but hopefully it will eventually arrive.

Masks were worn but we worked in close proximity for an extended time so now I have to quarantine. I got a test 5 days after the initial exposure and it came back negative, so I was set to end after 7 days, but then another coworker I was around on day 5 (which is when we learned about the first) turned out positive also so that reset the timer. Me being negative while the other coworker was positive supports my belief that I had it back in February. That or a false negative test.
drzaius
My wife just sent me this pic. She got a path from the back door to the deck stairs cleared. That's undisturbed snow to the left, except over by the railing. This snow is particularly firm & heavy, though not wet. In this part of the world, that is a LOT of snow 2
Tpt life
I am in a lake effect zone. We get that two or three times a year. Fun isn’t it?
wtnhighlander
In over half a century, I have seen exactly one snow of 12" here. That happened in April, and was gone the next day. Mostly, we get misrably chill rain, with occasional miserable sleet.
drzaius
We'll get a dump like that maybe 2 or 3 times one winter, then none the next. Some years it's white all winter, others mostly brown. It's like a box of chocolates...

Coop
We’ve had a few snow falls here and it was like snow cones. I was in South Dakota one year pheasant hunting and their snow was like powder and unbelievable.
legenddc
Anyone have a reindeer template that you’re willing to share? I just did one of them off a PDF I saw here a couple years ago but I had to hand draw it. Looking for something easier to scale and print if possible. This is what I have, it is numbered for the cut order and sized for a regular sheet of paper.

Popular Post Chestnut
I've been working on some shop storage. These will eventually be drawers. I was going to make the drawers right away but a good friend of mine had sewer backup. I put my project on pause to help him as his wife is due to have their first child any day now.

Good for you giving him a hand. It always seems that the bad comes at a really inopportune time
