They are a Home Depot product if you can believe it. Husky brand. I waffled on them for a long time but so many folks on different forums were pleased with them over time that I took the plunge. Later, since I had one, it made sense to just buy another as opposed to making a pair of shop made assembly tables like I had been planning for the last couple of years. The parts to make a pair was almost what one of the Huskys cost so I took the plunge again. And no one even mentioned the big, ole, patch job from my branding iron incident
Coop
Thanks! Because of your artistically designed patch, you made it seemingly disappear!
Popular Post Chestnut
When your wife orders your Christmas gift before going out of town for work and says "Don't open the packages that are coming. They are your christmas gifts, I don't want to ruin the surprise." Sure ok....... 1

Popular Post Mark J
This came a few days ago, but I just put it together today. It's a carving stand that's meant to mount a lathe chuck and fit into the banjo where the tool rest usually goes. The two levers control the position of the workpiece. I'll be using it on this current project.

Oh, you mean why like what's if for? A lot of turners will embellish their work with carving or wood burning. The carving stand helps orient the workpiece in an optimum position for carving or burning or painting or whatever. OK, maybe my first answer was better. 1
JohnG
Ah ok, I saw your mounted piece behind it and was trying to figure out what you were going to put in the new chuck, or what you were going to put in the lathe chuck while your piece was in the new chuck. I understand now- you bought it because you hadn’t bought yourself anything in a while.
Mark J
I was just putting it together. You'll see I used it later when masking the piece on the lathe. 1

BonPacific
My new shop lights. Probably won't be able to install them for a few days though. It seems that my original specced lights, between when I planned them out and when I ordered, stopped being manufactured and the manufacturer may have gone out of business? So I went for another cheap brand (Barrina) with 84+CRI.
JohnG
I put Barrina LED strips in my basement shop. I have not done anything where the low CRI has mattered. They were easy to install and I am enjoying the additional light (10 led strips to replace 4 light bulbs).

Popular Post BonPacific
I ordered a cheap 5000W electric heater as a temporary measure while working on the new shop, and surprisingly got it delivered yesterday (ahead of schedule and up my icy driveway). While I wouldn't trust it to run unattended, it was dearly appreciated today with the outdoor temperature hovering in the 20s.

That makes a lot of sense. From what i've heard though the Felder cutther head is far better than the Byrd head.

If memory serves, 7500 Watt. There's some advantages, instant on or off, no open flame, but expensive to run. One trick I learned is to run the room air filter at the same time; it spreads the heated air around.
