Popular Post BonPacific
Birthday gift from the in-laws. Now it just needs a bench around itself.
Popular Post legenddc
Picked up a Wera screwdriver for my Incra miter gauge since I didn’t have one. Pretty nice feel to it. Might have to get some more for the other sizes.
Popular Post Jonathan McCully
Showed up out of the blue today. Never received tracking information on it and had been wondering if it was coming. Bought this primarily because of the ability to pair it with my Festool track to cut rabbits and dados in my workpieces. And because I’ll soon be putting my Bosch into a new router table and will need a new plunge. Excited to start using it

Helps that they make some really great machines too.
Popular Post Coop
Occasionally I will do some rough sanding outside my shop and don’t want to connect the Festool and the vac so I use an old 5” DeWalt os with it’s little purse type filter bag. This also helps use up some of the multiple grit 5” discs that I have. On my last try, I noticed the sander had a major fray in the cord. As this old buddy was about 15 yo, I decided to put her to rest and this came today. Now I guess I need to replenish my 5” disc stash!
Popular Post JohnG
I took today off to get a break since my busy season is winding down. I’m lucky I did because I got a surprise bandsaw delivery! No call or notice that they were coming out, just got a call when he was parked at the end of our ~600’ winding gravel driveway in a 48’ truck. Spun his tires in my field for a while trying to turn around and acted like it was my fault he tore up my grass. Typically if they are in a truck over 24’ I have them wait at the main road and unload them there. Net weight 441lb (gross 490 but the tractor can get it to my shop door), this should be fun by myself.

Mark J
Congratulations. Good thing you were home, but the surprise delivery is a big demerit for Harvey's delivery company.
curlyoak
As much as the bandsaw lights my fire, The place where you live is amazing. Must be a lot of land with your long driveway. And lots of hardwood trees.

We like it. We are on 20ac, with a lot of farms and woods surrounding us. We do have a lot of hardwoods, and most of the pines are falling to make way for more hardwoods in the future. 1

That's a sweet saw you'll share your thoughts on it at some point I assume? I was excited yesterday, I ordered an Incra fence on January 28th and it finally showed up. They shipped it the same day but it sat in the post office in Texas for a week and a half...

I’ll make a thread about the bandsaw setup and then will follow up on it after it’s been in use for a while.

Popular Post Chestnut
Got some stuff in the mail from some dude who is really proud of his logo.... I'm excited to put the mouse scraper to work. They seem a lot better than the gooseneck variety that is popular. These scrapers are made for marc by DFM, which i have to have bought a few scrapers from and thoroughly like. The hold fast pads are really nice. I need to try them out to see how hard i can hit them before they mar the work piece, if they even will now.

I had seen the pads years ago in a woodworking magazine, I think it was one of those reader ideas. Anyway, I went to a shoe repair shop and had a couple made, I think he used Latigo leather. You can hit them way harder then you need to with out them marring you project piece. I had a hard time getting the hold fast back out after my test.

I also tested if a lighter hit would hold well, and it did the leather adds grip so i can hammer them home even less. I did notice that the leather left some staining on the wood but that's not a bad thing. The last step is surface prep so that'd get removed at a later step anyway. The leather on these is nice and thick too.

BonPacific
I'd be curious if folks who've used the slip-covers have compared to just permanently gluing some leather onto the holdfast. Do you find yourselves removing the cover for some actions?

Popular Post Askland09
The new addition to the shop came in today! Super excited to jump down this little rabbit hole!!
