Popular Post pkinneb
Picked up some wood I need for a couple quick projects; Maple for a BC high vise, red oak for a shelf my MIL wants, ash for a shave horse, and walnut for some urns. For anyone in the local area I got this from Nate Iverson on FB Marketplace. Seems like a real nice guy and the prices seemed fair. He plans on opening a commercial space soon right now he works out of his home in Hopkins. He has lumber packed in tight in his garage as well as a couple others next door. Got the maple milled up for the vise.

Popular Post Tom King
Fixed a printer today. The print cartridges got stuck over to the right in HP 9615 printer. There was no access. It had fairly new cartridges in it, so I decided to cut them out to save the cartridges. The main cause of this problem is listed as a paper jamb, but all the pictures show to get the jamb out on the left side where there is access. Once I cut the plastic back for access to the cartridges, I saw there was a paper jamb over on the right side where there was no access. I removed the jambed up paper, and it went back to work, minus all the safety of the inside plastic covers, but it doesn't seem to need them to operate.

BillyJack
Another long day.. I have to get the Christmas tree, etc from under the stairs. It’s the only time it’s cleared out enough to finish wiring for the stereo, tv, etc. I’ve been running wires around the wall for all these things to operate. I believe I have two 6 ways connected. I’ve got two separator wirs back there. Hoping to make 2 4 ways from this.. I believe I use 12 gauge wire for both..
Popular Post pkinneb
Finished up the shaping today Then a couple coats of Tried and True finish Mounted I'll give the finish a few days to dry completely and then add crubber to the jaws and bottom side of mount.

BillyJack
Turned power on in the shop. I hate to heat it up to a comfortable setting just to not go in there., I have to put a board against the top of the garage door because of an air leak. Guess it’s time to seal the door up.

Popular Post Coop
I’ve been using and tripping over an extension cord that has provided power, back and forth, to my band saw and drum sanded for about 5 years. Yesterday and today, I provided both machines with their own power source after multiple trips to HD and up and down ladders.
Popular Post JohnG
Our solar panels got officially turned on yesterday, just in time for 5 rainy and overcast days! But with that and the short days, I’ll get a good baseline for their minimum production. 6

Coop
And all done without the aide of a lathe? Pretty darn cool! 1
wtnhighlander
Yeah, @Coop, no lathe. Hollowed with a side grinder, outside carved mostly by bandsaw. 1
Popular Post Chestnut
Emptied my miter saw ct vac. I neglect emptying this bag to much apparently. The vac and hose was stuffed with dust so tight hockey pucks of dust feel out. How many of you empty the single use bags multiple times? I get about 10 fills out of my ctvac bags. I empty them into a trash can with the dc running and the hose over the trash. Zero fine dust makes it out of the area this way.

I don't think it has been as high as ten, I would guess six or seven before I replace it. I found the trick is to just use the CT for the miter saw and sanding. If you use it regularly to vacuum crud off the floor it becomes to hard to empty.

The fine dust from sanders seems to effect performance faster. When i worked with some western red cedar you get a nice side treat the extractives from the wood lodge in the bag and act as an air freshener for quite a long time. Turning the vac on resulted in some nice cedar scented air. The floor sweep in my shop makes getting crud off the floor easy and fun. I know some don't like sweeping but when my DC is running a lot of airborne dust gets removed quickly.
