Its ice that can be really hard to see. It's no joke stay home that stuff can be really scary especially if those around you don't know what they are doing which is a good bet it in TX. wtnhighlander
This counts, right? At the house, 3" of crusty ice topped by an inch of powder. Tennessee snow shovel: 2

Suppose to get to 9* tonight. This ain’t fun! But this was! 2 1

But we will be having rolling outages for a while. Houston, the energy capital of the nation. They should take lessons from Motel 6. Coop
So, within 20 min. of posting this, the power dropped again and now at 10:15 p.m., Wednesday night, it comes back on. Haven’t seen the news or news paper since Sunday. Are we still at war with N. Korea?
Popular Post Mark J
@Coop, I hope you and your household are keeping safe. And I hope there is a rapid return to seasonabe Texas weather. (In fact I wouldn't say no to some seasonable Chicago weather). We northerners may not take winter for granted, but we do take it in stride. And we tend to assume everyone else will, too. We loose sight of that poor Texas woodworker that barely has a pair of socks, much less shoes . 1

If an event doesn't hit stock market news it's probably not important enough. I get criticized for this opinion a lot so I'll say this is my opinion for how i want to live my life. 2
Coop
As much as I try to understand electricity, I don’t. If I turn my valve off to my water hose, I still get a little water out of the nozzle when I open it. When I turn the propane tank valve off of my cooker, the flame lingers momentarily. When I unplug my drill motor, that’s it! Looks like there would still be a little in the power cord? 1
wtnhighlander
@Coop, there are some theoretical discussions of electrical current flow that may allow for what you described, but since the electromotive force 'pushes' electrons through a conductor at what is effectively the speed of light, you just can't detect it. 1
Coop
Fair enough. So perhaps I should leave well enough alone and delve into understanding perpetual motion?

legenddc
My cordless drill and impact both will turn on the LED light for a brief second if you just took the battery off. It's enough to make me think, crap, the battery just died and then I realize I took out the battery.
