Amazing what people are doing these days. Look at what BMW is making their paint out of now.

“But since the waste-sourced coating is nearly identical to the oil-derived version, it can be produced on short notice.”

That’s funny! BMW probably encourages their employees to clock in before going to the crapper!

Damn, it’s hot! Temp for the next 5 days is 100* with a wind chill of 107* -112* . But, we are supposed to get some needed rain (30%) in about 10 days. Glad I’m not a roofer or concrete guy, or even employed!

Temps are good in Chicago, but the metro area had 13 confirmed tornados last Wed evening (EF 0 & 1, but 3 near us) and one more yesterday evening.

I obviously haven't checked this thread for a while, completely missed this post a year ago. Congrats!

@BonPacific I work for a major OEM competitor of Deere's turf division as the head of the customer service department. Here's what I can share with you after almost 20yrs experience:

1) MAINTENANCE, MAINTENANCE, MAINTENANCE! Read your manual and follow the maintenance schedule. Change your oil(s) on time, buy them from your dealer or have your dealer do the changes, and document every service. Not saying that you'll ever have trouble, I just want to you be prepared if you do.

2) Avoid the pressure washer. High pressure water can force past bearing seals and cause bearings to fail prematurely.

3) If you have trouble, your dealer is your best friend. If you can convince them that warranty should cover the repair, he'll argue with Deere on your behalf.

4) Engine oil is cheap, buy the good stuff. There's a difference between automotive oil and air-cooled engine oil, stick to a Kohler/Kawaskai/Briggs oil
