Mark J
After a couple of days of continuous and often torrential rain the ground is saturated. It was super heavy again last night for a nervous hour. It's better now, but I think there's more rain in today's forcast.
Popular Post pkinneb
Performed a much needed spring cleaning... Much better. I also got help putting together the mortiser. Unfortunately I assumed the door would be on the front of the unit so the casters in the mobile base were installed wrong. Luckily I was able to slide some scrapes underneath and reconfigure the base. The tilting table requires the door to be on the side...I only realized this after severely cussing out Powermatic

Popular Post Coop
I found a way to organically control stink bugs in my tomato patch. I splinted and duct taped my portable shop vacs hose to my Festool’s hose to give extra length. I even caught several couple’s that were in the process of creating baby stink bugs. That had to be a rush for both parties! I then vacuumed a little Seven dust to give them a farewell party. 1

I find myself using it in the shop more then I thought and I can vacuum the vehicles with out moving the CT out of the garage. And if I was sanding windows 18 ft of the ground I would have to balance the CT on a garbage can.

I can't count how many times a little extra length would have done the trick. 1
Chip Sawdust
Yesterday I went to the sporting goods store and got to see my new rifle. Since it's a semi-auto they won't let me take it home without a 10 day waiting period. That's after two weeks of waiting for it to be shipped (late because of COVID they said) and taking a safety class online (I've been shooting for 50 years and been through tons of courses but no dice). So now I've seen it, felt it, threw it up to my cheek, and now I wait. Just thinking, for the price I coulda got a SawStop hmmm....

Popular Post Tom King
I had to get a replacement back window put in my Mother's 2004 Mercury Marquis, that no one even uses now. I carried my golf rangefinder to measure the distance from where I hit the rock with the mower, to the broken window-51 yards. The glass guy said, "Good shot!" 1

The house was custom built by the previous owners in the 90s. It was well constructed and thought out. No work is really “needed” on the house, but we will do a bit of updating (mostly painting). The deck needs a bit of attention, some nails sticking up, one wobbly handrail, couple boards sticking up, but is otherwise solid and has plenty of life left. It has an unfinished walk-out basement that will serve as my shop for now. Later I’ll build a shop once we decide on location and size. 8 minutes ago, Tom King said: Did you get the one you were talking about near W/S? Yep, same one with the water stove and 20ac. Closed on it yesterday.
Mark J
"How is the access to the walkout door from the street", he asked with more than a hint of jealousy. Can you roll a pallet jack? I bet it has a view, too?
Tom King
I like the star drive Deckmate screws, that Home Depot sells, best of all for deck fasteners, and many other things. I've pulled many proud deck nails, replaced with those screws, and never had to replace one of the screws. Get the ones with the black label. They've changed the design of them several times.

Can you roll a pallet jack? I bet it has a view, too? Not good, haha. Gravel driveway, then have to either go down a set of stairs or down a grass hill to get there. The view isn’t like Mick’s. The area I’ll be using has a man door out, and the view is a bit of grass and then woods, probably some of the water stove as well. The next “room” has a double door going out, but is smaller and has the HVAC and water heater in it. 1 hour ago, Mick S said: Hahaha! Once we know the size. Haha! So where you gonna put that monster? Well, there are two fields that are 2-2.5ac each, I don’t see why we need BOTH of those... 4
