Popular Post pkinneb
Searched for my TS blade nut...how it got way down hear with the DC off is beyond me...thinking it must have bounced off the plastic blade shroud and had enough momentum to roll up and out of the saw
Popular Post pkinneb
Finally git a day without 12-15 mph winds so I burned up the scrap can, old clamp racks, and a gift or two that didn't come out right That didn't take long
Popular Post Robby W
I am going to have to get used to this burning things. So that in Southern California and you will end up in jail. Can't wait to move.
JohnG
When you get over here to NC you’ll find that burning is commonplace, especially if you’re in a rural area.

In the bay area there are somedays because of the inversion layer you can't burn but even on those days you can have a fire for sustenance. So on those days just make sure you are roasting hot dogs or marshmallows while you are enjoying the fire. 1
Popular Post legenddc
I’m beat. Spent all day removing the flooring and trim on our first level and then the rest was bent over screwing down the subfloor. Fortunately we got it all done and I only have one place to patch.
Robby W
We aren't even supposed to use lighter fluid on the BBQ. Those chimney things smoke like crazy and half burn your charcoal before it is ready to use. I heard that they are thinking about outlawing the use of charcoal, which I prefer for the better taste. Can't wait to get out of California.
JohnG
Also over here you won’t have any trouble finding solvents like in SoCal. However, good avocados and good mexican food are much harder to find.
Popular Post Coop
A couple of if’s here: if I do have a place in heaven and if I have the availability to request it, I hope to be near a good Mexican food restaurant!
Robby W
Oh, you have point! Once I run out of my current stash of denatured alcohol, no more shellac use until I can get to NC. There, if I can't get DA, I can get Everclear or moonshine!

In your last pic, are the two knobs on the outside used to hold the base fence to the main fence, in lieu of Van Dyke’s on the back side? The two knobs on the L fence, how are they attached to the base fence, with t nuts or wood insert nuts?

All are t nuts epoxied in.

Popular Post wtnhighlander
I took Cody and friend to Discovery Park of America, in Union City TN. Place is awesome, with interactive exhibits covering the known history of the region. Starts pretty far back. And covers a lot of ground.
Popular Post Tom King
That looks like quite a place! I started on the little bathroom house on our point today. It used to have four small bathrooms in it, but was gutted before I bought that point in the late '70's. The ceiling was pegboard with the holes for ventilation I guess. The edge of the roof is only 6'4" off the ground. I want to raise it above 6'8". Either the edge fascia has to be cut down, and the overhang reworked, or I could just jack up the whole roof by cutting the nails holding the two wall top plates together, and filling in with something. After I took the ceiling down, I had some of my better luck. The top plate is a 2x8 that projects 4" into the room, and the ceiling joists fitted down over that. I've never seen such a design before, but it Greatly simplifies being able to jack up the whole roof. I won't even have to put anything under the ceiling joists, but can jack directly against the 4" exposed part of the top plate. The partitions were gone, but they left the top plates. I think that building was built in 1962 or 63 when the lake was first flooded. The point was used for daily admission to a swimming and picnic area, thus the need for the bathrooms. Anyway, the 2x4's are true 2" x 4" Yellow Pine, and straight as arrows. I wish there were more of them. I was so dirty that I quit for the day, but got all the old wiring out, and ceiling down. Tomorrow I'll take the wall paneling down, and maybe start breaking up the concrete floor. It is, after all, not just built like one. It is one. 4

Popular Post pkinneb
About a week ago I ordered a new router lift from Woodpeckers they said 8-10 weeks for delivery. Yesterday I get an email that it had shipped and will be here Tuesday So today I glued up a new table top and then squared it off. I need to get to a lumber yard this week and grab some maple for edging, then I can apply the laminate to the top, bottom, and new fence pieces.
legenddc
My daughter's been having her asthma-like breathing issues since we ripped up the flooring. Just the the Wen shop air filter I ordered on Saturday night to run through the house and see if it will help her. Once we're done I guess I'll have to install it in my shop. Wish I had it last weekend, could have avoided her feeling sick and coughing for 3 days.
