Popular Post Coop
I just realized that it has been over 6 weeks since I completed my relocation and hard piping of my dc system and not the first board, other than test pieces, have been run thru my machines. Spring, yard work and garden have intervened. I think it’s time to get creative and make something.

Popular Post pkinneb
Finished up a quick project for the my daughter and SIL in Chicago. They were looking at some wall bike racks online and asked if I could make them I said sure. While they are a little different they are similar and work just as well at a fraction of the cost.

I've flown out of there a lot over the years. I worked for a MEP engineering firm, and I was in the mechanical side. We worked on several projects at Dulles, often nearing the construction drawing stage only to find out they wanted to turn an escalator 90* so we’d go back and redesign. Though we charged by the hour and had an “open tab” with them so it wasn’t ever a loss. Once went there for a site visit and got dropped off at an under construction site beyond the runway. When it was time for us to return, our one contact that was licensed to cross the runways was out for a 2+hr lunch. We ended up walking back through the underground tunnel toward the main terminal, past several concrete and welding crews, and finally emerging somewhere in the depths of the baggage conveyors. After wandering around for a bit we found an exit to the main ticketing area, where we ran into one of our bosses. He was a bit confused why/how we got there, but he was running late for a meeting so he didn’t ask many questions.
drzaius
Speaking of baggage handling rooms (room seems like an inadequate word because is covers acres) the part I was in at YYC was so plugged with conveyors & equipment that you could hardly get through it. We may or may not have needed to duck under and climb over some conveyors. I’m sure we did not take the “proper” route. One of my coworkers later went on another site visit where they actually were working in the baggage area. He took a video of one of those round tube-like military duffle bags rotating in place where two conveyors met.

Popular Post Chestnut
Went through some city road plans and have my eye on 3 white oak trees and 2 walnut trees that are to be cut down this spring. I'm hoping it works out. The white oak would be awesome to have no need to comment on the walnut.

Popular Post Woodworking_Hobby
Nothing too exciting. Tried first few cuts of the dovetails until I realized my coping saw blades were too thick and have to get some smaller one. Had some leftover crubber from the bench build and souped up some of the little clamping blocks I use.
Popular Post Tom King
I finished framing up the crooked little bathroom house into having straight, plumb, and square rooms. The sink counter will have a full sized single bowl stainless steel undermount kitchen sink, a drop hole over a Roughneck trashcan, sloped front to be easier to clean than a regular toe kick, and meets better than ADA minimums for wheelchair clearances. I didn't buy any of the expensive lumber sold these days. I picked straight, flat boards from all my scaffolding boards, and made pieces out of some that weren't so straight where I could mill useable parts out of them. Some of them are weathered, but still sound, and it will all be wrapped up with tile, and a granite counter. All surfaces will be covered with tile, including the ceilings, and the floors will slope to the 3-1/2' wide doorways. Ceiling fans will dry them out after cleaning with a water hose-no joke. All plumbing for the sink will be accessible in the storage room behind the sink wall with none exposed in the bathrooms. Not exactly pretty at this stage, but all finished sides of the framing sticks have been straightened on a jointer where needed. I still have to build up the floors from what is seen here. T & S wall commercial faucets will be on the wall, and a hands-free faucet on the sink top. I was going to do everything hands free, but found that all those control boxes use C cell batteries, and I don't want to get into keeping up with changing batteries more than for a sink faucet that has another option for when batteries are dead. As usual, no drawings were made. I just figured it out as I built it, but made duplicates of all pieces when any were cut for the first one, so the second bathroom sink should go right together.

Coop
What a coincidence. Mine does the same thing. To complicate matters, mine does that while I am in the shop but using the remote and moving to the room the collector is in, it doesn’t do it. I probably have a ghost buster problem! Popular Post Ronn W
No woodworking yesterday. Put some screws in the picket fence where pickets were loose. Maybe one more year and then the cedar fence will need replacing after 12 years. Hung Larraines birdhouses. Will make 2 more this afternoon with grandson. Sharpened some plane blades and chisels. Sanded the work bench top and put a coat of BLO on it to repell whatever spills on it.
Chestnut
Bah again another year past and no bird houses made. I wonder if it's not too late to knock a few out.

Also got a couple extra aux tanks. We had 63 acres in the country outside of Lufkin, Tx that had been in the family for years. We had a couple of tractors and a pond and house on it. Due to sibling greed, we ended up selling it to a neighbor who moved the house off and clear cut it to raise cattle. I sure miss those tractor days. It was work but fun work!
Tom King
I think you're going to need to build a rack for it over the gear head. That's going to be a lot of weigh wagging the tail, plus it's not exactly out of harms way back there. Do you have a welder?

I’ll fill it up and see how it handles tomorrow. I don’t back the mower up under trees/brush much, but will certainly consider moving it closer to the 3pt hitch. I’m currently without a welder but can either remedy that situation or use the welder at work. We have a decent machine shop that I can get access to if needed. BonPacific
Spent about 5 hours today tinkering with the fuel system on my new (to me) riding mower. Got it running like a dream, and about 20 minutes later the drive belt fails. Sigh.
