Popular Post tperson
I finally had time to fix the tractor I purchased last fall (a IH 544u). It was an auction purchase and when we were trying to get it started I spun the fuel solenoid on the base of the carb without a wrench (like an idiot) and broke it. A replacement is $150. Dangnabbit. Today I carefully cut the case and used a couple of screwdrivers to pry open the canister. As I suspected, I broke the hair-sized wire. After 10 minutes with the soldering iron, it was fixed but I still had to figure out how to crimp the can closed. Made a quick little clamp and tapped it with a hammer/punch to reset the crimp...and it works! Might seem like a small victory, but $150 in my pocket is a good day...especially when the orthodontist said today that our 13yr old will need $5k in braces (after insurance). Crap.
Popular Post JohnG
Unexpected plumbing project today. The old PB line developed a leak. Plumbing is my least favorite type of home project, but it actually turned out okay this time. 6

BillyJack
HAve a woodworker on Woodworkingtalk that is involved in a non profit organization that says he has one that will send it to me. If it wasn't for woodworking fiends, we'd be stuck with Ebay and whatever they want for discontinued parts...
legenddc
How old is your sander? Lack of parts availability has steered me away from a number of tools, especially Delta since every search related to Delta parts is that they don't make them anymore. Lately I feel like a detective. Nothing is labeled with a brand name. Managed to fix a bathroom faucet with no markings. Need a new storm door handle but no product labels or parts numbers anywhere to be found. Same with my neighbor's storm door.
Robby W
If it is the sander pad, you can get them from Klingspor.

It was gone. I seen a Ryobi sander it's so big I didn't know if you sand with it or ride it like a sit N spin... 1
Popular Post Coop
I drilled 160 holes and hammered in 160 nails into a 9” x 20” board. I had done something similar to this board, to support small parts while finishing but the nails never seemed to be in the right place to support odd shaped parts. I did this before opening a beer tonight so no alcohol involved. 8

Popular Post Jonathan McCully
Transplanted a tree. When I moved into this new home, the builder had planted a Bradford Pear about 2 feet from the roofline of the house. I like Bradfords, but really didn’t want a large tree growing in that location. Dug a hole in the backyard, a feat in itself given the rocky soil here in SW Utah and moved the tree. Went and found a Compact Carolina Cherry to put in the front. Will be delivered Wednesday.

Popular Post treeslayer
So I started using the wired ear buds that came with my iPhone in the shop, worked great but uncomfortable under my regular ear protection and the wire was always in the way, so I splurged a little and bought myself these, paired easily, comfortable and the sound is very good, plus now I’ll never miss a phone call, a quick touch of the button answers the phone. Never new what I was missing, really nice to listen to music while I work
Coop
Dave, just wondering, what is your preference in music. I know it’s not the total crap they played at half time!

I had a short stogie at halftime, yeah total waste of time to watch that, classic rock but lately the Dropkick Murphys, the Dreadnaughts, Rumjacks, Reverend Payton’s Big Damn band, Irish-Scottish bands, and classical, Mozart, Beethoven, how about you? Coop
I’m still pretty much stuck on the music I grew up with, early 60’s to early 70’s. My truck radio usually sits on the Beatles channel. I’ve learned a lot about them and how really talented they were. I also give the old country western a listen at times. Oddly enough, there is no music in my shop but I plan on correcting that with a set like you show. I might even check out your preferences, well maybe not the classical stuff. My wife may ask what I was smoking!
treeslayer
Like the old country stuff, Hank Sr. Willie, and of course the man I black
wtnhighlander
If you like classic rock and Johnny Cash at the same time, follow guitarist Mark Knopfler through his career from Dire Straits to the present. Awesome musician and a great story teller, with a rather eclectic portfolio. 1
