treeslayer
Scraps of wood, some glue, maybe some small containers of different latex paint and some foam brushes. You should be good for awhile. Popular Post Robby W
My granddaughter said something that made my weekend. She likes to vacuum the shop. As we were going back into the house, she turned to me: "I really like the way your shop smells. It smells lime wood." Made my day.

Might as well get him a set of drums and a bugle too! I'm pretty certain a hammer would still keep Cody occupied for hours.... 1
Popular Post legenddc
I heard a commercial earlier that Home Depot has the kids workshop kits again. May have to pick up some of them next time I'm there. Busy day here. Had a contractor fixing a slight leak by our skylight while another was here removing some attic insulation, filling in gaps and blow in some new insulation. Hoping the 2nd floor will stay cooler and we all sleep better.

It's cool to watch the walnut change color from gross green to chocolate.

Popular Post Coop
My wife and I and HER 8 mo puppy named Sage (I call her Savage), spent the first hour out of five for the next 5 weeks at obedience training. Should have done this months ago. Still a long row to hoe but divorce and or returning the mutt to the breeder now may not be in the cards. 2

Popular Post Mick S
Until this evening, the only thing I've ever won was a Rand McNally road atlas (a paper version of Google Maps for you youngsters) when I was 4. I threw a dart to pop a ballon and that was my prize. Tonight I sat in on the Fine Woodworking Webinar series featuring Mac Sheldon and others of the PantoRouter crew. At the end of the webinar Mac asked a trivia question about something he'd mentioned at the start of the webinar. I answered it correctly first and won a nice $149 set of Amana router bits! https://www.pantorouter.com/shop/amana-essential-bit-set 6

Popular Post wtnhighlander
Bunch of old hand tools on display at the Decatur, AL railroad museum, where Cody and I visited today: Sorry about the glare. There was no angle I could shoot that didn't catch some reflection from the display case glass. There were also some interesting examples of "business class" furniture from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The repairs made to keep such utilitarian pieces function can be rather amazing. 2

Popular Post Chestnut
I broke out the slab wagon and finally moved the walnut slabs from my driveway to my lumber yard. I was getting too many questions from my neighbors. "What are you going to make from it" It's a nice question that leads to a boring answer of "I don't know it won't be dry for a long time" I had to restack the "Lumberyard" As I wanted the walnut slabs on the bottom. I need to star taking material out of here and use it to make stuff. Most of the lumber is down to 11-13% which is probably good enough for what I'm planning for it. Not pictured but i stumbled across some awesome cheap straps at HD. At $1.75 i don't have a problem buying them to keep the stacks strapped down. This is for security as much as trying to hold things flat. I've had these piles tip over before. Also some day I'm going to finish flattening out the ground back here and haul in wood chips to try and make it look a bit cleaner and keep the weeds down. I may also try and construct some sort of rough roof to keep rain off but for now they are drying just fine with out that.
Popular Post Bmac
It's blueberry season here in Delaware, and it's been a record crop for me. Love this time of year. Just our haul from picking for an hour after work last night; This is still what the bushes look like after last night's picking;
Mark J
@Chestnut, what's the building in the background with the "steep stairs". Reminds me of my old treehouse.

I find that the coarse chips from a session of milling make pretty good ground cover. As fast as you work, you can probably generate enough to make a thick blanket by next week! 1
Popular Post Coop
Drew, on my last stickered stack of slabs I took a sheet of corrugated metal roofing and strapped it across the top and used small zip ties to attach black landscape fabric to the metal for sides which allows air circulation.
