Popular Post mat60
Just not very proud of what I half to do to try to make a living. I'm working on two corner cabinets and a sink cabinet. Nothing that great to show but I have always enjoyed seeing what you guys do. I just wanted to explain why you never see my stuff and will take this thread down soon..
Popular Post wtnhighlander
I see nothing there to be ashamed of. Have to remember, most of us that build "fine furniture" are doing so as a hobby, where deadlines don't really exist, and by definition, money is lost. I have a profound respect for anyone that can make a living doing woodwork, cabinets, furniture, or otherwise.
Chris208
Was somebody asking to see your work? Thanks
Popular Post ..Kev
No need to take the thread down. We all do "woodworking" in different ways! Looks like nice work to me and I'm sure there's others here that can learn things from what you do.

Ronn W
I had a shop of sorts many years ago and it fell by the wayside with a family, job, my own business, moving, etc. But when I saw the wonderfull cabinetwork that a cabinet maker did for us for our new kitchen a few years ago, I decided I had to get my shop back. I am so glad that I did and I owe it to a guy like you. Thanks.
Popular Post mat60
Ok.. I going to leave it and post a picture once in a while. I no it may sound funny but I miss the days when woodworking was a hobby but I'm two darn old to go back to roofing and siding. Been in the shop way to much this winter and really looking forward to spring also.. I thank you guys your comments.. Mark
Tommy Hall
Looks good to me, I hope you keep us posted. Through the years I've seen allot of kitchens pulled out only to be replaced by trashy cabinets when they could have just up dated the faces, your making a nice cabinet.
Chestnut
Share the stuff you feel like, don't feel obligated but i enjoy cabinet pics. I've done some cabinetry and despite it being on the boring side they are still an interest for me. I also love a good table build.
Popular Post Llama
Hell, I've been building mudrooms for the last 4 months. I hate it, but it's what pays the bills.
RichardA
Aw hell mark, show your stuff, fluff the feathers that keep you afloat, It's good woodwork, and not one damn thing to be ashamed of. I quit driving tractor trailers for a living, you don't want to see those do you? Any woodwork that is made by the guys and gals here is worth showing. Your stuff could very easy help someone that's never done case construction, and isn't helping our fellow woodbutchers what we do here? Mark Take two hours a week and do some hobby woodwork, don't let anything drive you into the ground, not anything.
Coop
A friend of a friend quit his refinery work to take on cabinet building and I’m glad he did. We had him build ours when we redid the kitchen and he did a helluva job. Three weeks ago I tried to replicate one for my office out of cherry and now I appreciate his work even more. Darn nice work Mark!

Cliff
You may think "well this isn't fine furniture." but I'm thinking.. "Hey I'd like to learn how to build that too."
Popular Post Tom King
Anyone who makes a living building stuff (well, maybe not out of pallet lumber) gets a tip of the hat from me-especially when there is a row of trophies in the background!
Popular Post wdwerker
Looks fine to me ! Any shop with mismatched cabinets on the wall makes me feel right at home. My shop and living room is lined with mismatched cabinets and bookcases, most are ones I pulled from clients homes when I built new ones for them. I usually post the more interesting stuff I build. If y'all want to see commercial plastic laminate jobs I can post those. You might share an overlook of your process building a base & wall cabinet. Depending on regional expectations styles and methods vary widely.

mat60
I'm going to half to put them trophies away.. Its only been 23 years. .. As you guys can see I don't worry about having a nice looking shop. Some stuff was free and some things I had left over from jobs and the cabinets are my first ones that I made years ago. I am going to half to show you guys my kreg jig cart. Your going to love that..LOL I have a island to build on this job and I will show some of that. I think I might like that. Its oak with flat panel ply doors but that's what they wanted so its good with me.. Thanks all.

Coop
IMO, Kreg joints have their place and my cabinet guy used them in indiscriminate places and I don’t disagree. If I catch you with your head in my cabinets, you don’t qualify for the good tequila! Joinery for FWW , probably not. Absolutely share with us and we shall share with you. As an aside, I’m still not qualified as a 301 fine woodworker, by any means.
wdwerker
I have one of the original Kreg jigs and one of the newer master Kreg jig sets. They have their place & function. The trick is to use it where nessacary and always concealed. I rarely use them on fine furniture.
Immortan D
If my cabinet has a hidden french cleat, I will use pocket screws to attach it to the sides of the cabinet, no exception.
Popular Post gee-dub
@mat60 If I only posted the things I thought other people would like I would be wrong most of the time. The great thing about forums is that they speak to a wide variety of skill levels, areas of interest and classifications of the craft. For every person that could give a hoot about something I make or a way that I do something there is someone who will benefit from it in some way. Post proudly, your "day job" cabinets look great to me.
