Popular Post Coop
John, hard to tell from the pic. Is that a track saw and does it require that much lubricant?

I ordered one from the recon site as well but so far 2 days past delivery estimate Glad I didn't end up selling my corded version right away as I initially thought about doing. Tom King
Back to vacuum cleaners: We wanted something we could grab quickly, to clean up wood pellets off the floor that the puppies scatter from the litter boxes we train them to. I decided to try a reconditioned Shark cordless, knowing that returns from Amazon are pretty painless. It works fine, and is just what we needed. Can't tell that it had ever been out of the box. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08P9PNB7S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=

It is the cordless version. I haven’t used it yet, and don’t even have any rails for it yet.

You don't need the tracks for every use.

I guess you can only use their batteries and if so, are they more expensive than say DeWalt?

But you can often find really good deals on other brands and many stores will allow you to stack discounts or match competitors so you can usually get the batteries for a fraction of MSRP if you're patient and diligent enough to find the right deals. Festool almost never has sales and when they do vendors cannot apply any other discount. One thing about the new Airstream batteries is that because of the built in cooling system (hence the name) they charge real fast. Alot faster than my regular Milwaukee and Dewalt chargers and maybe a little faster or at least on par with the fast charger.

Mick S
Happy Birthday, Coop! I've heard good things about that saw. And happy, happy retirement!
Popular Post Mick S
Here's a photo of the dust collector fittings I got today to hook up the new saw and sander. All I got was a box of flex hose - no fittings. Two boxes, one tracking number, just the hose. Now I have to make a new plan for the weekend. I'm starting with scotch.
Chet
Happy Birthday Coop. Your going to love that saw. Super powerful for breaking down stock. Even through 8/4 maple it doesn't take more then a handful of seconds to go through 8 to 10 inches in width. It is well worth your son's money. 1

Coop
Thanks guys! Appreciate Ya’s! Chet, that’s exactly what the primary task will be. I’m tired of dragging out the circ saw and extension cord, and laying the board across my leg to cut it! Now I don’t need the cord!
Chestnut
Happy birthday coop. Socks!? I thought you only wore sandles? 1
Popular Post Coop
No sir, don’t own a pair of sandals. Barefoot when at home and Topsiders when I go out in public where shoes are required. I say that, last week I went to HD and when I stepped out of the truck, I realized I had to go back home and put shoes on. Had my mask though!
Popular Post jussi
Came a couple days late but finally got here. Got it from recon sale and Surprisingly comes with 2 chargers while the newer ones seem to only come with 1. Will be nice when using both batts though. Didn't realize how much bigger the systainer is compared to the corded model. Gonna figure out how I'm going to fit it in the cabinets.

Popular Post Chestnut
Ordered some more bandy clamps. I'm starting work on some cabinets and will be doing a lot of edge banding. These are dead useful. I also grabbed some more racking that I use for lumber. I have some box store racks but I've overloaded a couple brackets and am more leery with the amount of weight they can hold. This racking is stout and i can hang off of the end of the 18" brackets. It is expensive but I think it's worth it. I think the whole system is rated for like 1,000 lbs per strut but it says that the fastening method is the weak link and that it'll pull away from the wall before the system fails...

I have the tenderest feet of anyone I know. True story, I have rejected bath mats that my wife bought because they were too rough. At the beach? Water shoes. About the only times I'm barefoot is from the bed to the shower in the morning. And at a swimming pool, where I just man up & bear it, just.
