shaneymack
Totally agree. We have an air purifier in our room. If the power goes out and the purifier turns off, it wakes me up right away Sent from my SM-N910W8 using Tapatalk
Popular Post wdwerker
Hunter ceiling fan works just as well. The old cast iron ones don't make annoying sounds, just the whisper of air moving.
drzaius
Agreed. I've got to have some low level white noise to get a good sleep. I'm in real trouble when the zombie apocalypse happens & the electricity goes out. I'll never get any sleep.
Chestnut
Oh man i can't fall asleep with fans running. I put on VERY quiet baroque era music. Having something loud like a box fan running all night would make me uncomfortable. I'd never hear someone break in.
Tpt life
Oh that has me laughing. I will fall asleep no matter, but...faster with a fan and slower with music. With music I listen too intently.
RichardA
I used to drive tractor trailers and could fall asleep instantly with the diesel motor running! Took me almost a year to stop vibrating when it was bed time, made it easy to fall asleep. Now it's like a light switch, blink and I'm out! Woodenskye
If the air conditioner isn't on, in addition to the ceiling fan, I have 2 others. I used to always have the radio, but when I moved in with the girlfriend I had to stop and it took awhile to be able to fall asleep.

I can see, with a new girlfriend, how it would be harder to fall asleep at first.

Cliff
I run a box fan, a hunter ceiling fan and a smaller fan pointed directly at my head. I need the sound and the moving air to sleep. My wife freezes.

At 14 I was commercial fishing in Alaska, I love boats, fishing and open water, I like woodworking. Put me back on a boat, and the only cutting board I need is a gunwale to gut and fillet tonight's dinner! As far as the rabbit hole, you have to be careful, I made 5 cutting boards one year for Christmas, got caught by a snoopy wife and daughter, ended up making 17 in 10 days. Silence makes the circus in my head kick into high gear. I have to be hypnotized with sound to fall asleep. Thank god for beer, because otherwise I'd never get a minute of sleep when camping. Alcohol-induced comas are second best behind box fans.

Not exactly healthy, which is why I don't really drink anymore.

Cliff
Ash seems to be pretty hard. And I may have broke my jigsaw. Unclear. All in a days work. Time to get the smoker prepped for brisket.

I used it fine for 20 minutes then the blade started kicking out sparks and it felt like I was pushing it through concrete. But there was no metal in the board. Then I stopped and the blade was bent significantly. The sparks I think was coming from the blade rubbing against something on the jigsaw. Not sure. Put it aside and just went to the table saw to break the board down. Not my favorite thing to do with rough lumber.

The hardcore truck guys who get Ford or Chevy tattoos are bad enough, this is much, much worse! And the thing about me is, if there is even the smallest chance I am not serious, I'm not.
