wdwerker
If you are Interested in off beat tablesaw jigs check out ... Stuff like this is possible but carries a high risk factor if every step isn't executed just right. A clamp slips, take too big of a cut .... you get my drift ? A kickback or jig slipping could turn into a life changing event in a split second. Sure it's entertaining to watch but only the very confident and extremely cautious should consider actually doing this !
drzaius
I've seen Izzy Swan do a lot of really dodgy things. It's a wonder he's still got all his parts.
Chestnut
That doesn't seem all that terrible. I'd have maybe extended the jig back further to give me the ability to keep my hand behind the saw blade so i wouldn't have to reach over it at the end. drzaius
I haven't actually watched that video, or any of his for a couple of years. He just doesn't have much content that appeals to me.
wtnhighlander
I like to watch Izzy, just to try to understand how his mind works. Heard him interviewed on a podcast once, he's led a pretty interesting life.
Jonathan McCully
Bit late posting. Got back to milling my wood strips for my cutting boards yesterday and had much better success at the jointer without becoming frustrated that I was taking too much wood off to get the bows straightened out. I had been having some issue with this prompting a thread in the general forum. This is my first big project that I’ve done all my own milling on, so I’m still learning the technique and expectations, but I’m finding it to be so much more fun that buying presurfaced wood. Hopefully will be back at it again today with the same success.
Popular Post wdwerker
Tried out my new lapboard on my recliner. Finished it while I was making stain samples for a client. I took some measurements, found a scrap of maple ply , drew the arch with a bent strip & corners traced from a small can. Thinking about gluing something like a mouse pad on one side as a non slip surface to prevent spills .
Popular Post wtnhighlander
Made another TSO* today. Trying to clear out some random chunks of wood that have been piling up. I did have to use a chisel to smooth this ine up a bit. Otherwise, all TS. *Tablesaw Machined Object.
Tpt life
Started digging for a clogged sewer line yesterday. When I find it today, I plan to add a cleanout. My whip stops about 22’ from the interior cleanout. There may be an inappropriate 90 I need to swap.
legenddc
Cleaned our basement out some on Saturday with my wife. Got a bunch of kid's stuff headed to donations or their original owners. Cleaned out some of the storage rooms too. Finally got some time to clean up the shop side too. Emptied most of it out to the storage room. Now I need to build some shop furniture and actually get some work done in it. Feels good to finally make some progress.

Chestnut
I got some lights from American green light. I'm going to try and make a herb grow light stand and use their lights that are close to full spectrum for the plants.
Popular Post treeslayer
I took my wife's old knife block for a final ride and @wdwerker requested a picture, glad to oblige Steve. 38 Special and 22 rimfire did it in, i can't believe what a piece of junk it was, pressed cardboard at best, at least it didn't put up a fight like our old kitchen table, it tried to run and i had to put it down with a 45/70 buffalo gun. the second picture is the replacement, cherry with walnut inlay, she loves it

Coop
Very neat looking knife block there Dave. Is that your design? The lower block, is there a function that we’re not seeing or just part of the design?

Part of the design, it’s the base to keep the block at an angle for ease of knife removal
Popular Post Just Bob
Got an order to turn 65 of these stubby screwdrivers from one of my wife's quilting friends. I quoted $3.00 each, she said no.... And insisted on paying $6. I said OK. 1
